The Ketch Inn

Nestled along the Tongass Narrows, The Ketch Inn, formerly known as the Edgewater Inn, is located just a mile north of downtown Ketchikan, Alaska.

The Ketch Inn extended stay accommodations are just what you need, whether you’re searching for a comfy nest for a couple of months of remote work or a snug basecamp for that exciting long-haul Alaska adventure you’ve been dreaming of. The Ketch offers both oceanview and garden view rooms. Oceanview rooms with a balcony are available as well.

Getting around town is a breeze with so many options available!

Ketchikan is a compact community of less than 14,000 people, with a main road stretching 30 miles along the coast. Our downtown area is walkable, and from May to September, there’s a free shuttle bus service. Bicycle and electric rentals are also available.

Ketchikan is all about convenience, with services like Uber and Lyft at your fingertips. Plus, there are local car rental companies ready to help you explore!

Municipal buses run hourly, with adult fares at $2*, while taxis offer 24-hour service at $3.70* drop and $3.50* per mile. Rental cars are easy to find, but note that public parking has restrictions and requires permits available for $5.00* at City Hall. For travel off the island, air taxis provide scheduled commuter service and charters.

Ah, what an epic time it was in the logging heyday of the 1970s and 80s, when our charming town was home to 56 vibrant bars! (Just reminiscing, not bragging!) These days, many of those treasured spots still open their doors, along with a wave of exciting new bars that are sure to win your heart. 

Many of these awesome spots feature live music, from smooth jazz to fun bluegrass, creating a lovely atmosphere to unwind after a busy day and soak in the friendly local vibe! And hey, if you have a trumpet, sax, harmonica, or washboard handy, you can join in the fun.

Health Services

Health issues are a part of life, but we’re here to ensure you’re well-informed about the range of health services available to you. Whether it’s a minor cold or something more serious, rest assured that you’ll have access to the care you need to recover swiftly.

  • Urgent Care facilities are readily available both to the north and south of The Ketch, with more than three options to choose from.
  • Emergency Room and hospital services can be found 1.8 miles south at the “PeaceHealth Ketchikan Medical Center,” which provides Emergency Room services 24 hours a day.
  • Dentistry and Orthodontics options are plentiful, with approximately ten providers in the Ketchikan area to ensure your dental health.
  • Pharmacy Services are accessible at six locations, including Walmart Pharmacy, situated less than a tenth of a mile north of The Ketch.
